Overnight oats are incredible simple to make. All you need is a few key ingredients.

Oats

Old-fashioned rolled oats are the best, as they absorb the liquid very well and give a creamy texture.

Milk (+ Yogurt)

Add any type of milk. Also add Greek or dairy-free yogurt (optional) to make it more filling and super-creamy.

Chia Seeds

Optional, but adds fiber, protein, and omega-3. Plus it gives the oats a thicker, better texuture.

Add-Ins

Add a pinch of salt to bring out the flavor. Stir in flavorings like cinnamon, vanilla, jam, or honey. Nutritional add-ins include protein powder.

Toppings

Toppings include dried or fresh fruit, chopped nuts, nut butter, or chocolate chips.

How to Make
Overnight Oats

This is how to make overnight oats in 4 simple steps.

1. Add Oats + Mix-ins

Add oats, chia seeds, salt, honey, spices, and other mix-ins to a jar or container with a lid.

2. Add Dairy

Add milk and yogurt, if using. Stir ingredients well to combine. Break up any clumps of chia seeds.

3. Add Extra Layers

If adding a semi-solid add-in like jam or peanut butter, you can layer it over the oat mixture if you wish.

4. Add Toppings

The next morning give the oats a good stir. Top with your favorite toppings.
